Rafat bought 5 New testaments

This year (Jan/Feb 2009) Rafat came to the BSOE booth at the bookfair and bought 5 New Testaments.   Rafat is a member in the St. George Orthodox church, and like many others he is involved in ministry in a poor church somewhere else in the city.  Rafat is serving amongst the poor in a church on the outskirts of Cairo.  Rafat told us that he had five children he was working with, who had received illustrated Bibles from the BSOE about 2 years ago.  They now wanted "real" Bibles for themselves, and so Rafat came to the Bible Society to buy them each a New Testament.

A family Bible-reading time together

A huge Bible distribution was held at a church on the outskirts of North Cairo.  More than 2,000 children received Bibles.  BSOE fund-raiser, Amir, who works in the area, reported the fact that he knew of several families that started having a family Bible-reading time together with these illustrated children's Bibles that were distributed, because it is easy for the whole family to understand.
